What does 'green' really mean?
      Your front page article about the Hilton Foundation coming to Agoura Hills makes it seem like we should all applaud the move. While I appreciate any foundation that provides services to the needy, a truly "charitable," "green" organization would move into the existing, vacant glut of office space, rather than destroy yet more undeveloped land.

      The Julie Freeman saga continues. It amazes me that people would come to her defense. In Mr. Weinstock's letter of Feb. 12, he says he witnessed from his office sheriff's officers pulling people over all day long for what appears to be meaningless and "extremely minor violations.

A new theory about 911
      You need to know that Republicans are without honor. They took our democracy away from us for two elections in 2000 and 2004. They let credit companies charge whatever interest rate pleased them. They let 9/11 happen because they needed a new Pearl Harbor to convince our people to go to war.

Need safe streets
      If the city of Westlake is truly concerned about pedestrian safety due to the deaths on Lindero Canyon Road, one has to ask then why don't Lindero Canyon Road and Agoura Road, cited as so "troublesome," have sidewalks?

      Sharili Brown's letter in the February 19, 2009 edition of The Acorn titled "Placing blame where it's due," misleadingly tries to lay full responsibility for the mortgage crisis on Republicans.
