Company named on Forbes list

Intuit Inc. of Calabasas has been named the World's Most Admired Software Company by Fortune magazine.

It's the fifth straight year that the financial tools software maker has been named to Forturne's most admired companies list, coming in ahead of Adobe, Electronic Arts, Autodesk and Microsoft.

Intuit's flagship products are Quicken, QuickBooks and TurboTax.

Samuels honored by Northwestern

Northwestern Mutual honored David Meyer Samuels of the Beer Financial Group in Calabasas with its 2009 Western Region Leader Award.

Samuels was a leading producer in the insurance company's western region. The honor recognized Samuels for an outstanding year of performance with Northwestern as he served the financial needs of his clients and policy holders.
