Help save the Calabasas football team
Kudos to Stephen Dorman on his insightful commentary and thorough grasp of the travails of the Calabasas football team. As a parent that has gone through six torturous years of frustration and futility, Mr. Dorman has succinctly and poignantly revealed the crux of the issue.

Broken play
I am a longtime supporter of Calabasas High School sports in general, and my son played football at Calabasas for four years. Having just returned to town, I see in Mr. Dorman's recent Acorn article a very rational analysis of the situation with Calabasas football. Thank you, Mr. Dorman, for providing this commentary on the situation.

League, not team held liable
The athletic directors and principals of the Marmonte League have once again put their own interests ahead of the studentathletes. Calabasas ends up being used as a pawn to protect their teams from Oaks Christian and almost guaranteed losses in the standings.

Resident backs Bob Sibilia
Bob Sibilia brings unique qualifications as a challenger for the City Council. His previous service as mayor and city councilman provides a known track record of leadership and the experience needed to fully engage on all city issues from the day after the election.

School official likes incumbents
As an elected advocate for our local public school students, I am focused primarily on only one issue when evaluating the merits of local candidates for election. That issue is support for public education, and that is why I am supporting Jonathon Wolfson, James Bozajian and Mary Sue Maurer for reelection to the Calabasas City Council.

'Bring back Bob,' and James
Calabasas has enjoyed its share of fine council members since its incorporation, but this election offers an opportunity to place two outstanding citizens in position to create a balance of peace, productivity and protection for the greatest good.

Maurer deserves another term
Mary Sue Maurer has an amazing "I get it done" track record. Isupport Mary Sue for all that she's accomplished for our community and all that she continues to do. She's dedicated, enthusiastic, passionate and openminded.

More Mary Sue
Mary Sue Maurer believes it is the top priority of our local government to protect citizens in case of emergency. Under her stewardship, the city of Calabasas has become even better protected for natural disasters as well as terrorist threats. The drive-through flu clinic is innovative with regard to emergency preparedness and is being copied by other cities.

The blame game
Sharili Brown admits to partisan politics and appears to have no qualms with it being used to pin blame for this economic crisis. It is patently false to state that there was no lowering of standards.
