Special needs planning credential

Arkady Milgram, a financial planner with Walker Financial Partners in Westlake Village, has earned the Special Care Planner designation through The American College in Bryn Mawr, Pa.

The certification program is designed to help formulate insurance for individuals and families with special needs children. Milgram is only the third person in Southern California to obtain the designation.

His training included advanced estate and tax planning concepts, special needs trusts, government programs, and the emotional dynamics of working with families with special needs children.

New board execs

Executives from California Bank & Trust, the Los Angeles Times and the Ventura County Star have joined the board of directors of HomeAid Los Angeles/Ventura, the philanthropic arm of the Building Industry Association of Southern California.

The new executives are Bruce Hendricks, a bank senior vice president and regional manager; Leslie Lindemann, advertising director for the Los Angeles Times and Bill Momary, vice president of multimedia advertising at the Ventura County Star.

HomeAid is based in Agoura Hills and partners with the Building Industry Association and its associates to provide in-kind labor, materials and services to build and renovate housing for the homeless.

Muvico special

The Muvico Thousand Oaks 14 Theaters will hold a special promotion on Tues. and Wed., March 3 and 4 at The Oaks mall, 166 W. Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks.

Popcorn and soda will be sold for $1 each and all proceeds from popcorn and soda sales will go to My Stuff Bags Foundation in Westlake Village and Variety Children's Lifeline.
