Nominations accepted for Teacher of the Year
      Nominations for the 20082009 Teacher of the Year award, sponsored by Teachers' Insurance Plan, are being accepted through Thurs., April 30. The award will include $1,000 to the winning teacher and a $500 grant to the teacher's school.

A 3.5 or better grade average was required. •California State University Channel Islands announced honor students for the fall 2008 semester. They earned a 3.75 or higher grade average.

College practice test offered
      A free Princeton Review exam will be given from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sat., Feb. 21 at Juan Bautista de Anza Park, 3701 Lost Hills Road, Calabasas. The test is designed for students in grades nine through 12. It will help students see how they will do on spring standardized tests without affecting their college records.
