Alison Schink Cox

Alison Schink Cox passed away on February 2, 2009, at the age of 53 following a long illness with breast cancer. Alison was born in Philadelphia, PA, on December 11, 1955. Her early childhood was split between Rhode Island, San Diego, and Palo Alto, CA. She graduated from Cubberly High School (class of '73) and played in the marching band. She attended Scripps College and graduated in 1977 with a BA in History. In addition, Alison received her Masters in Education from Cal Lutheran and taught for 15 years in the Las Virgenes Unified School District.

Alison loved to travel and visited Europe on numerous occasions with her family including; England, Ireland, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Monaco and Italy. Alison had many interests outside teaching. The most important to her were photography, scrap booking, sewing, playing the flute, and watching each of her children participate in youth and high school athletics. The friendships she gained through these activities were nurtured and cherished by Alison and her family.

She is survived by her husband George, son George David, daughters Megan Lee, Julianne Frances and Amanda Catherine, her parents David and Lee Schink of Los Altos, Ca and her brothers Jonathan Schink of Palo Alto, Ca, Julian Schink of Chicago, IL, and Roger Schink of Madison, WI. A special thanks goes to Alison's Angels and NCL for all of their support over the past months.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 14th at 12:00 pm at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, 5801 Kanan Road, Westlake Village, CA 91352.
