Temple's Green Fair teaches respect for Earth
RECYCLED WARES—Lauren Leifitz, 8, a Westlake Hills Elementary School third-grader, left, and sister Sara get a hands-on look at a colorful hand-woven truck at the second annual Green Fair at Temple Adat Elohim in Thousand Oaks on Feb. 8. The non-biodegradable items, including baskets, mats and bowls, are handcrafted by artisans in Nepal from discarded food wrappers. Sales from the items are donated to causes in Nepal and Vietnam.
