Golf association signs deal with TaylorMade Adidas

The Ventura County Junior Golf Association announced a sponsorship agreement with TaylorMade Adidas Golf Company to act as the official ball and apparel provider of the 41-year-old organization's summer tour.

Under the terms of the agreement, TaylorMade will be the title sponsor of the VCJGA's newly formed championship series— four tournaments to be played on the region's top public and private courses. The TaylorMade Cup, which will be designed to challenge the top junior golfers in Southern California, will include events at Robinson Ranch in Santa Clarita, July 1 to 2; the 54-hole VCJGA County Championship at Wood Ranch Country Club in Simi Valley, July 21 to 22; North Ranch Country Club in Westlake Village, Aug. 17; and the VCJGA Players Championship at Cypress Ridge GC in Arroyo Grande.

"This is the first sponsorship with a major golf products company in the history of our tour," said VCJGA board member Michael Andonian, whose father, Mike, founded the nonprofit sports organization in 1967.

The VCJGA was established to develop the golf skills and character of young players.
