Monarch gymnasts go for the gold
      Athletes from Monarchs Gymnastics in Agoura Hills and Newbury Park brought home many medals at the recent 10th annual Lady Luck Invitational in Las Vegas. More than 1,200 boys and girls competed. Alyssa Gale, 16, of Simi Valley won three gold medals, including one for all-around, in the Level 10 division.

Former Marmonte slugger now top-rated Dodgers prospect
      Newbury Park High graduate Andrew Lambo has been named the Los Angeles Dodgers' No. 1 minor league prospect by Baseball America. The announcement was made on the publication's website Jan. 30. "It's a pretty big honor because we have such a heavily stacked system," said Lambo, a corner outfielder.

      The Calabasas High boys' basketball team has gone through many changes during the past year. Now the Coyotes hope to return to a familiar spot—the playoffs. Although CHS has a new head coach and has made numerous lineup alterations, the squad is in control of its postseason fate after missing out on a playoff berth last year.
