'Bravo' to Lindero art students
Presidential inauguration is exhibit theme
      Ceramic donkeys and elephants created to celebrate the presidential inauguration by seventh- and eighth-grade art students at Lindero Canyon Middle School in Agoura Hills are now on display at the Bank of America branch on Kanan Road, art teacher Marilyn Fine said at the Jan. 27 school board meeting.

Bookside kids storm the court
      LITTLE EAGLES— Brookside Elementary School first-graders show off their Oak Park High School basketball T-shirts which the children wore to a recent T-Shirt Night game. At the event, the kids were given the opportunity to go on the court, high-five the OPHS basketball players and coach, and cheer on the team with the cheerleaders.

Grant supporta environmental program for teachers, students
      Mountains Restoration Trust received a $35,000 grant from the Boeing Company which will fund "Partners for Tomorrow's Environmental Stewards," a program that provides middle childhood students with handson learning experiences about the natural environment and its restoration and preservation.

Speaker to address special ed friendships
      The Special Education Advisory Committee will meet from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tues., Feb. 10 in the community room at the Oak Park Library, 899 N. Kanan Road, Oak Park. The topic of the meeting will be facilitating playdates and fostering friendships. The speaker will be Rick Clemens, M.A., founder and director of Inclusive Education and Community Partnership.

Northern Trust Open tickets support Oak Park golf team
      The Oak Park High School golf team is selling discounted tickets to the Northern Trust Open, which will be from Mon., Feb. 16 to Sun., Feb. 22 at the Riviera Country Club. Daily grounds tickets, valued at $30, can be purchased for $15. The tickets can be used for any day of the tournament.
