Common illness often misdiagnosed

      The numbers reflect the size of the problem—one in five Americans, or 60 million people, have a pituitary disease, and most don't realize it, said Robert Knutzen of Thousand Oaks. Among the symptoms are headaches, mood swings, memory loss, eating disorders, weight gain, excessive hair growth, weakness in limbs and sexual dysfunction.

Conejo Free Clinic welcomes new director
      The board of directors of the Conejo Free Clinic in Thousand Oaks recently appointed Teresa Seeley as the clinic's executive director, effective immediately. Seeley succeeds Sharron Baird, co-founder and former executive director. Baird retired from the clinic on Dec. 31, 2008, after 32 years of service.
