Agoura in hoops heaven
Charger girls have won 18 of 19 games, while boys' team is off to a 15-4 start
      Mired in mediocrity no more. It's not as if the Agoura High boys' and girls' varsity basketball programs have been terrible in recent seasons—the boys' team made the playoffs three of the past four years before being bounced in the first round on each occasion.

      Agoura High offensive lineman Kevin Graf was left off last week's AllCIF Northern Division football team list. Graf, a senior, has already committed to USC. He's also been named a Parade AllAmerican.

      For years, the Oaks Christian girls' soccer team has been known as one of the most dominant in Ventura County. Due to the squad's young roster and quick start this season, it looks like the Lions will carry that moniker a little longer.

      WINNERS— The U-10 Apex SC B98 soccer team won its division at the inaugural Eagles Winter Classic in Camarillo. The team went undefeated in four games and allowed only two goals the entire tournament.

      Westlake High senior Brittany Pillado had a good weekend. The 17yearold wrestler finished second in the 118-pound division during Saturday's CIF Southern Regional girls' wrestling championships at Oxnard High. Because of her result, Pillado qualified for the state championships next weekend at Hanford.

The Chargers, ranked No. 4 in the CIF-Southern Section Division II coaches' poll, are well on their way to another league title with a 9-4 overall record and a 6-0 mark in league play.

Girls' lacrosse league seeks talent
      The Southern California Lacrosse Association is forming girls' lacrosse teams for the spring season in the communities of Newbury Park, Thousand Oaks, Camarillo, Calabasas, Agoura, Westlake, Simi Valley and Moorpark. The league is part of the SCLA, and registration is now open for girls from seventh to 12th grade.
