Lupin Hill classrooms vandalized

Two classrooms at Lupin Hill Elementary School in Calabasas were vandalized on Jan. 9 or 10, according to a Las Virgenes Unified School District official.

Rhonda Bacot, director of maintenance and facilities, said a window was broken and a laptop computer was stolen. She said the burglar also sprayed both rooms with a fire extinguisher, leaving a mess which took maintenance workers several hours to clean.

One of the vandalized classrooms is a special education class run by teacher Michelle Dow.

The incident was reported to the sheriff, Bacot said.

The theft and damage to the classroom were estimated at more than $500, which does not include staff time for cleanup.
