Adult education classes offered in Judaism

The Conejo Jewish Academy at 30345 Canwood St., Agoura Hills, begins its winter semester next week. No affiliation or membership is necessary.

•"Windows of the Soul, A Kabbalistic Journey," 8 p.m. Tuesdays starting Jan. 20. The six-part series discusses the kabbalistic essence of "self" as well as divine consciousness, good and evil, and the afterlife. Rabbi Yisroel Levine is the instructor. The fee is $18 per person or $10 each for those who bring a friend.

•The women's weekly round-table study group meets at 12:30 p.m. Tuesdays. The group will study the weekly Torah portion and offer practical advice on Jewish homemaking and family rearing. Refreshments will be served. Rebbetzin Matty Bryski is the instructor. No fee.

•Wednesday Lunch 'N Learn with Rabbi Moshe Bryski discussing "The Civil Laws" will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. starting Jan. 21. A buffet lunch will follow the class. Free.

•"The Essentials: A Free Basic Judaism Course" will meet at 8 p.m. Thursdays starting Jan. 22. This eight-week course will cover the foundations of Jewish life. Rabbi Shlomo Bistrizky is the instructor. There is no fee, but reservations are required.

•The Friday women's Torah study group meets at noon Fridays at a private home in Agoura. The group will discuss the 13 attributes of divine mercy in a study of the book of Exodus. Rabbi Moshe Bryski will be the instructor. There are no fees, and the group is open to all women.
