Learn about Oak Park special ed

The Special Education Advisory Committee of the Oak Park Unified School District will meet on Tues., Jan. 13 at the community room, Oak Park Library, 899 N. Kanan Road.

The general meeting will be from 6:30 to 7 p.m., followed by a presentation and questionand-answer period.

Fran Arner-Costello will speak on "IEP: Your child's plan for success." The talk will cover adaptations students with disabilities may require to function in a general education classroom, strategies, monitoring and implementation.

Attendees will participate in handson problem solving activities.

ArnerCostello is the director of programs and services, Ventura County SELPA, and part-time lecturer at Cal State Channel Islands.
