Richard E. Dolliver

Richard passed away unexpectedly on December 19, 2008 in Agoura Hills, CA. He was born on October 19, 1942 in Glendale, CA and will be dearly missed and loved by all that knew him. He is survived and remembered by his wife of 38 years, Holly; his sister Carol and her children and their families; his sons Gregory and Gary and their wives; and his most treasured grandchildren: Joel, Emma, Payton and Logan. He will also be remembered fondly by many friends, colleagues and associates who had the pleasure of knowing him during his life.

Richard attended UC Santa Barbara where he achieved a BA in Analytical Biology. He also became active in ROTC and graduated as a 2nd lieutenant. Richard then attended UCLA where he graduated with a Masters degree in Public Health. He completed a 2-year tour in the Army, which included time in Vietnam. Upon his return, he married Holly and they settled in the Los Angeles area to raise their two boys. Richard worked as an industrial hygienist for many years, bringing safer working conditions to hundreds if not thousands of people who never knew his name. He also continued to serve in the Army Reserve for 20 years before retiring at the rank of full colonel.

Richard was interred on December 27, 2008 at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks in Westlake Village. A morning private service for family with full military honors was followed by an afternoon memorial with many friends and associates present. Richard will be remembered for his duty to his country, dedication to his work, and most importantly, his love for his family. His family requests that any donations in his name be sent to the March of Dimes.
