A guest defrauded the innkeeper of a hotel in the 28900 block of Canwood Street Dec. 15. The loss amounted to more than $4,000.

Someone stole a $1,000 laptop computer and two credit cards from a car parked in the 30100 block of Agoura Road Dec. 13. The culprits caused $500 in damages, shattering a window to get into the vehicle.

A thief took a digital card reader, valued at $6,000, from a gas pump at a station in the 5110 block of Chesebro Road Dec. 12. The gas station attendant told authorities that this is the third time that a digital car reader has been stolen from the same pump.
