Citizen input appreciated This is just a note to thank the residents of Liberty Canyon Homeowners Association, the Liberty Canyon Townhomes and the Rondell Condominiums who took the time to either write to the Agoura Hills city staff and planning commission or actually attend the planning commission hearing last night regarding the Liberty Canyon Center, which is proposed for the northwest corner of Liberty Canyon and Agoura Road. What I find interesting is that the developer and his staff had two hours to present the project from every angle and in very great detail, complete with prepared slides and drawings. They explained why they had to remove somewhere between nine to 12 oak trees, why they picked the color of the buildings, and why a left turn pocket on Liberty Canyon is a good idea. There were 12 to 15 residents who took the time to come to the meeting. Five or six of them who wanted to speak were each given three minutes to enumerate their concerns. Additionally, several others had submitted written comments. Then in their deliberations, the planning commission members went out of their way to thank the developer and architects for the time they had taken to explain and perfect the project. Of course they were paid to be there and the success of their project depended on it. There was no mention of a thank you to the members or the community who cared enough to write or take the time to attend the meeting. I want you to know that your efforts were appreciated.
