Book collection was a success

A huge thank you to all of those who participated in the Big Sunday Book Drive on Sat., May 4.

With the committed support of the Oak Park Unified School District, the community was able to collect more than 3,000 books for all ages from preschool to 12th grade, which were donated to Oxnard schools in need.

Special thanks are due to the school board, school principals, PFC presidents, teachers and the more than 50 volunteers who came out on Saturday morning to carry, sort and deliver truckloads of books.

It was overwhelming to see the hard work and generosity of our community.
