Leonis Adobe Association elects new board president

TAKING CHARGE- Leonis Adobe Association's newly elected board vice president Camille Stoddard and president Michael Silberman prepare to take the helm of the organization.
The Leonis Adobe Association announced at a recent board meeting that Michael Silberman has been elected board president.

Silberman has served as board vice president and is the co-founder and chief operating officer of Quepasa Corporation, one of the world's largest bicultural and bilingual Latino online social networks.

Silberman replaces Don Adams, who served as president from 2004. Adams has become the board's director of marketing and promotion and will seek to widen museum recognition through community, regional and statewide networks.

Camille Stoddard was elected board vice president. Stoddard attended the Sorbonne University in Paris, France, and has a BA in political science/international relations from UCLA.

Reelected to their offices were Kathy Miller, secretary, and Ruth Abel, treasurer. Ray Phillips continues in his capacity as president emeritus and advises the board on many aspects of the original restoration of the Leonis Adobe and Plummer House.
