Landecker will be a Trojan

Calabasas High junior shortstop Adam Landecker has made a verbal commitment to play baseball for USC.

Landecker, an honor student at Calabasas, was recruited by several high-profile programs from the Pac-10 and Big West conferences, as well as other universities nationwide.

"I'm very excited," Landecker said. "USC was always my first choice.

"Everything about USC is what I want. The school and the team are a great fit for me."

Landecker is expected to join several former Marmonte League stars at USC, including Alex Kurland (Calabasas), Robert Stock (Agoura) and current Thousand Oaks pitcher Chad Smith.

"It'll be an honor to play alongside those guys," he said. - Stephen Dorman
