Jacqueline Buckley of Calabasas Hills, a sixth-grader at Viewpoint School, competed at the recent U.S. Rhythmic Gymnastics Junior Olympics in Chicago.

Jacqueline qualified for the Junior Olympics at the Region 1 Regional Championships in March, where she came in second place for both the floor and ribbon events and fourth place overall.

She competes at level seven, and is one of eleven level seven gymnasts from Region 1 invited to the Junior Olympics.

Rhythmic gymnastics involves the performance of jumps, tosses, leaps and other moves with various apparatus such as rope, hoop and ribbon, as well as floor exercises. Gymnasts are judged on their grace, balance, flexibility, dance ability and coordination.
