Top singers in Ventura fest

Now entering its 14th season, the Ventura Music Festival will host Ventura native Nicole Cabell, the 2005 BBC Cardiff Singer of the World, for one command performance at 8 p.m. Sat., May 10, Ventura High School auditorium, 2 N. Catalina St., Ventura.

Other performers for the concert include Mexican tenor David Lomeli, together with the festival orchestra conducted by Nuvi Mehta.

Italian pianist Giuseppe Albanese returns to the festival on Sat., May 3.

Leila Josefowicz took up the violin at age 3 as she was growing up in Westlake Village. Josefowicz will perform, accompanied on piano, on Tues., May 6.
