Scuba club ready to take a dive
The Conejo Valley Scuba Dive Club is accepting new members. The next meeting will be at 7 p.m. Tues., May 20 at El Torito Mexican Grill, 449 N. Moorpark Road, Thousand Oaks.
The club is for those who enjoy scuba diving in lakes and the ocean. Members receive special discounts on gear, trips and air tank fills.

Wellness Community to host anniversary gala
The Wellness Community Valley/Ventura will hold its 17th anniversary gala at 6:30 p.m. Fri., May 30 at the Four Seasons Hotel at 2 Dole Drive, Westlake Village.
The gala will feature dinner and a live auction. Nancy Colton, Andrea Roschke, Dr. Henry Montes and the Amgen Foundation will be honored for their work with the Wellness Community.
Tickets are $225 per person and can be purchased at www.TwcVv.org. Proceeds will benefit organization programs.
The Wellness Community Valley/Ventura provides support and education for people with cancer.

Dem club to hold May luncheon
The Democratic Club of Conejo Valley will host a luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Fri., May 16 at Agoura Bistro and Wine Bar, 30315 Canwood St., Agoura Hills.
The luncheon will commemorate the 75th anniversary of Franklin D. Roosevelt's "Fireside Chats."
The guest speaker will be California Lutheran University professor Dr. Jose Marichal, who will discuss "Fireside chats come full circle: YouTube and the end of the sound bite era."
Cost is $17. Reservations are required and must be made by Wed., May 14.

Groups plan 'making a difference' talk
The American Association of University Women Thousand Oaks Branch and United Methodist Church of Westlake Village will present "Making a World of Difference" at 7 p.m. Wed., May 7 at the church's Alton Hall, 1049 Westlake Blvd.
The program is presented by Jackie Reid, associate director/director of education of the AntiDefamation League's Santa Barbara/Tri-Counties region.
Refreshments will be served.
