Karate, Soccer Enthusiasts Get Their Kicks In Calabasas Master Zacharatos' karate kickboxing and soccer school is located inside the Calabasas Tennis and Swim Center, 23400 Park Sorrento. One does not have to be a member of the tennis and swim center to attend classes. Zacharatos and his wife present these 10 reasons to start a martial arts program with them for children age 5-and-a-half and up during the summer. •Students don't have to commit months in advance and can start whenever they wan•The school will work with vacation schedules so students won't lose the time paid for. •Students can sign up for short periods of time, as little as a month at a time. •Students can work out indoors in the air conditioned Calabasas Tennis and Swim Center. •Zacharatos has the best rates in town, offers family discounts, and does not require contracts. •Students can take advantage of smaller classes during the summer months. •Students get the special personal attention and flexibility of a smaller family-owned business rather than a corporate chain. •Students go back to school in the fall with more confidence, selfesteem, focus, and in better condition. •Parents can coordinate their children's karate classes with the other classes offered at the Calabasas Tennis & Swim Center to have a full day. •Parents can play tennis or swim while their child is in their karate class. Parents are also welcome to stay and watch the karate classes. In addition to karate for children, teens, and adults, Zacharatos also offers "Real Kickboxing" for ages 16 and up. Students can learn a valuable self- defense skill while getting a workout. Beginning classes do not have sparring. "Executive Boxing" is available for both men and women adults who can work out during a lunch hour. There is no sparring in this class. "Soccer workshops" for ages 4 to 8 are for those who want to learn the basic fundamentals before joining a league, or play without joining a league. The Soccer workshop is held at A.C. Stelle Middle School, and students don't have to be a student there to take the workshop. Zacharatos also offers private lessons at the Tennis & Swim Center, at home or office. Zacharatos is a seventh-degree black belt in karate, and is a former professional kickboxer who was rated top 10 in the world. He is currently a professional kickboxing referee with the California state athletic commission. He is also a former "all star" semi-pro soccer player and licensed soccer coach. Jamie BenAziz-Zacharatos, his wife, is a third-degree black belt. She also wrote and produced their two television commercials, which can also be seen on their website.
