Lacrosse players make college commitments

Three local lacrosse athletes announced their college commitments last week.

Agoura attackman Mike Cammorata will be heading to the University of Arizona.

Cammorata, who's led Agoura in goals and assists for three seasons, was named to the Southern California Lacrosse Association's first team as a junior. He was a secondteam member as a sophomore.

He has played lacrosse for eight years.

Cammorata's Agoura teammate, Stephen Cordial, has committed to the University of Oregon.

Cordial, a defenseman who's serving as Agoura's team captain this year, was named to the SCLA all-league third team last season.

Like Cammorata, Cordial was a member of the USA California Lacrosse team that participated at the 2007 Friendship Games in Osaka, Japan.

Oak Park High defenseman Corey Whelan will attend Wagner College in New York.

Whelan is a former firstteam member of the SCLA and has played lacrosse for seven years. He's participated in the prestigious Top 205 camp in Maryland.

Whelan was a member of last year's undefeated Oak Park state championship club team.
