Measure C a good way to fight school budget cuts

We have always supported public financing for school even before having our daughter and even when she was going to private school. Our public schools are the cornerstone of our community and as such benefit the entire community. Since moving to Oak Park, we feel even stronger about supporting our schools, so we will be voting yes on Measure C and encourage others to do the same.

The bottom line is that the state is going to cut funds to our schools. This will mean cuts in essential programs and increased class sizes. Measure C will help fund these services by simply extending the already existing $197 per year parcel tax. For us, this is a slam dunk.

We are also proud to be involved with a grass roots committee working in support of Measure C, Oak Park Citizens for Excellent Schools. They are at www.oakparkmeasureC.com and everyone with an interest in Oak Park's schools should support this group.
