Ventura County holds classes to help smokers quit
Program is free for participants

Ventura County Public Health is sponsoring an eightweek session on how to quit smoking from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays through June 10 at the Community Medical Group, 612 E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks.

There is no cost to attend and participants are eligible to receive the patch, Nicorette gum and lozenges for free.

The sessions will cover smoking triggers, developing a personal strategy, coping with stress and tension, preventing weight gain, finding alternatives and staying smoke-free.
