Oak Park student earns award

Todd Bettisworth of Oak Park High School was one of 12 student-athletes recognized by the UC San Diego department of intercollegiate athletics as a recipient of the 2008 National Student-Athlete Day Award.

Bettisworth received the award based on his athletic and academic accomplishments as well as involvement with community service events and other extra-curricular activities.

Bettisworth is a four-year letter winner on the track and field team and a member of the school's record-holding 4x400 relay team.

He is also a 10time winner of Provost Honors and serves as a tutor at the UCSD Warren Writing Center.
