Concert to support African water crisis

Gateway Church will present a benefit concert at 7 p.m. Sat., April 26 at "The Cage," 29646 Agoura Road, Agoura Hills.

The bands will include Lithonia Lightning, Hede, Backline and An E for Effort.

The show will raise funds to help alleviate the water crisis in Africa. In Central African Republic, 90 percent of the 4.4million residents do not have access to clean water. The results are thousands of preventable deaths and outbreaks of malaria, typhoid and dysentery.

Gateway Church has started a music venue called The Cage to provide a safe, quality performance place for local musicians and to raise money and awareness for the clean water crisis in Africa. The church's goal is to raise $100,000 this year.

The church will be hosting a number of shows during the year with local high school bands and touring bands.

Upcoming concerts are scheduled for May 17 and 24.
