Animé movie to play at library

Pierce College Farm Market open through fall The Pierce College Farm Market opens this month and will run through the school's October fall harvest festival. The market is open every day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the southeast corner of Victory and De Soto at the Pierce Farm Center. A variety of fresh produce will be available, such as strawberries, avocados, seasonal vegetables, jams and specialty products. All produce is grown locally. In addition, the Pierce Farm Center will offer the Pizza Farm beginning in May. The program introduces children to agriculture with a living demonstration using both animals and vegetables grown or grazing within each slice of a pizza. Tanenbaum to sign books May 7 The New JCC at Milken will host author Robert K. Tanenbaum as part of the "Meet the Author" program at 7 p.m. Wed., May 7 at 22622 Vanowen St., West Hills. The author will discuss his new book, "Escape," about a New York City district attorney working to convict a suspected killer and stop a terrorist attack on Manhattan. Tanenbaum was deputy chief counsel to the Congressional Committee Investigation into the assassinations of John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr. He has also served as New York City assistant district attorney, homicide bureau chief and mayor of Beverly Hills.
