Organist Edith Ott to play sacred music

Organist Edith Ott will perform a selection of sacred music at 3 p.m. Sun., May 4 in the sanctuary of Ascension Lutheran Church, 1600 Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks.

Ott , who has been the organist at the church for several decades, will perform music from her master's recital held at Cal State Northridge in April.

Music will include pieces by J.S. Bach, Louis Veirne, Jean Langlais, William Hayes, Olivier Messiaen, Pamela Decker, and John Weaver.

A reception will follow in the church's Founders Hall.

The recital is sponsored by Ascension's Organ Completion Committee. No tickets are required, but a freewill offering to support the Organ Completion Fund will be taken.
