Bigger is not always better

Mr. Waters' letter titled "Agoura Homeowners Beware" is aptly named. We should beware of the 7,000-plus-square-foot homes going up in Old Agoura.

The notion that preventing someone from building yet another monsterhouse will somehow negatively impact everyone else's property values is arrogant. It is as if this overblown taste in housing is the savior to falling property values.

How about tastefully built, low impact homes that fit the neighborhood and do not dwarf the lot and the surrounding houses?

Keeping Old Agoura in balance will maintain property values, not mansion-izing. Any city ordinance tightening building sizes is welcome by me.
