Charity car show drives in

The SWAT Support Charity Car Show and Memorial Drive is scheduled for April 27 beginning at 7 a.m. at Pierce College, 6201 Winnetka Ave., Woodland Hills.

The 13-mile Memorial Drive escorted by the Los Angeles Police Department motorcade will start at the Victory and Mason entrance to the college and return to campus for the car show.

The event will feature the LAPD SWAT team, amphibious team with boat, canine units, equestrian team and helicopter.

Auction items will include two helicopter ride-alongs.

All of the event proceeds will go to the families of LAPD Officers Randal Simmons and James Veenstra. Simmons, 51, died in the line of duty and his partner, Veenstra, was shot in the face and has survived.
