Rescue pilot to speak at Temple Beth Haverim

Temple Beth Haverim will present Barak Raviv , as part of its monthly Shabbat Speaker Series,at 8 p.m. tomorrow, Fri., April 11 at the temple, 29900 Ladyface Court in Agoura Hills.

Raviv serves as vice president of investments at UBS Financial Services in Beverly Hills. In 2006 he coordinated the purchase of a mobile intensive care unit ambulance that is in use in Israel.

He serves on the board of Magen David Adom, Israel's equivalent of the Red Cross. Raviv established a philanthropic foundation that provides financial support to a wide array of Jewish causes and healthrelated charities. He organizes bone marrow drives at the Los Angeles Israeli Festivals.

A licensed pilot for more than 10 years, Raviv is a mission command pilot for Angel Flight, providing air transportation for passengers with critical health care needs.

Raviv is involved with the American Jewish World Service and is building a facility that will expand access to clean water and sanitation in sub-Saharan Africa.
