More than 500 people take part in the 5K event

SUNNY DAY- A volunteer and a member of the Conejo Valley Friendship Circle take a stroll in the annual Friendship Walk in Agoura Hills recently. The event raised $180,000 to provide fun activities for special needs children in the area.
The Conejo Valley Friendship Circle, a local nonprofit organization that pairs teenage volunteers with special needs children, raised more than $180,000 during its third annual Friendship Walk.

More than 500 people took part in the 5K walk, which began on Canwood Avenue and ended with a festival in Sumac Park in Agoura Hills.

Participating in the walk as honorary grand marshals were Mayor Pro Tem Denis Weber and Councilmember William Koehler from Agoura Hills, Mayor Jacqui Irwin and Councilmember Andrew Fox from Thousand Oaks, and actor Don Stark.

The money raised helps fund childcentered activities including winter camp, volunteer teen training, special outings, fitness programs, camps, fairs and festivals.
