Meals on Wheels group welcomes new leadership

ROOM SERVICE- Past Meals on Wheels President Roger Garretson, left, briefs the group's new president, Pat Faley.
After eight years of service, Westlake Village/Agoura Meals on Wheels president Roger Garretson has passed the gavel to Pat Faley.

A resident of Westlake Village for 13 years and a dedicated volunteer for Meals on Wheels, Faley believes in the importance of serving the community in the important areas of nutrition and home support.

Faley is president of her homeowners association and treasurer of the Cleft Parent Guild. Originally from Chicago, Faley has been married for 49 years and has six children.

The local Meals on Wheels chapter, started in 1982, provides nutritious hot and cold meals delivered to homes Monday through Friday.

The meals can be obtained for a minimal cost and are prepared daily at the Los Robles Medical Center east campus in Westlake Village. The meals are delivered doortodoor by a team of volunteer drivers.

Meals on Wheels serves the communities of Westlake Village, Agoura and Oak Park.

The organization currently is looking for individuals who would like to volunteer their time as Meals on Wheels drivers, a duty that requires approximately one hour each week and directly helps homebound people in need living in the community.
