Eva Larson ready to take helm Eva Larson plans to retain the "solid foundation" David Ross created for the Community Foundation for Oak Park now that she has been appointed to replace him as president. In February, Ross stepped down after 17 years. Larson and her husband, Michael Green, moved to Oak Park nearly 10 years ago. "I've always been a part of my community, be it the physical neighborhood in which I live or religious community or cultural community," said Larson, a foundation board member. Among the challenges facing the foundation is how to meet the needs of the residents, Larson said. The desires of the community's original residents who continue to live in Oak Park vary from those of newer residents, according to Larson. "This changing flow of what the community wants and needs is of interest to the foundation and its trustees," Larson said. "We want the community residents to know that the foundation is there for them." Larson graduated from UCLA in 1989 with a degree in psychology. She is completing a two year term as president of the parent organization at Temple Adat Elohim preschool in Thousand Oaks. Larson has two daughters. - Sophia Fischer |
