Paris in Calabasas

Laura Paris, a certified acupuncturist, has opened a healing arts practice at the Leonis Plaza in Calabasas.

Paris, who holds a doctorate in Oriental medicine, has been working in the field of nutritional and spiritual healing for more than 25 years.

Known throughout the healing community for her knowledge of spiritual acupuncture and herbs, Paris said the way to solve health puzzles is by going to the root of the problem.

"I show people we can all make shifts in consciousness that can help break the old patterns that hold you back and create disease both physically, mentally and emotionally," Paris said.

Paris lectures frequently and contributes to various professional journals such as Health World magazine. She plans to conduct workshops throughout the year focusing on a variety of men's and women's issues.

New management

The Cigar and Cigarette Shop at 5637 Kanan Road in Agoura Hills has reopened under new management.

Located at the Agoura Meadows Shopping Center, the store is open from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Sunday.

Gym launches in North Ranch

Junior Gym, Home of Lyons Gymnastics Academy, is coming to the Westlake Village/Thousand Oaks area.

The gym will have a grand opening from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Sat., April 5 and Sun., April 6 at the North Ranch Pavilions shopping center.

Junior Gym offers instruction and other recreational activities to children of all ages.

Peterson hired
