Production begins on violence prevention video The Ventura County Chapter of Parents of Murdered Children Inc. is producing a community outreach prevention and awareness video with local production company 4eventsphoto. The video will provide youths, adults and professionals in the community with the ability to comprehend what murder causes to families and friends of victims. It will help educate professionals on how to help survivors in the aftermath of such tragedies. In light of the recent school shooting on Tues., Feb. 12, the organization will complete the video by Mon., March 31. POMC feels it is urgent that it must engage community involvement. Their goal is to begin airing the video and a presentation to local school districts, students, parents and faculty. "It is our hope that this video and our informative presentation will reach our community with a special focus on our youth and help make a change, help save lives, make someone think twice before they turn to violence," said Anya Reyes, cochair for video committee, board of directors of POMC. POMC is working with Don Dujardin, owner of the local production company 4eventsphoto, and local radio personalities Rico and Mambo, who will host the video. POMC is enlisting the help of community members to participate in the filming of the video. For more information, call (805) 236-8130 or visit www .pomc.org/venturacounty. |
