Viewpoint student to compete in math contest

Viewpoint School seventhgrader Chris Kimes will compete in the Mathcounts State Championships at UC Irvine on Sat., March 15.

Kimes was one of eight Viewpoint students to participate in the regional Mathcounts competition at Cal State Northridge on Sat., Feb. 16, where he achieved sixth place out of 100 students from private and public schools across the San Fernando and Santa Clarita valleys.

Mathcounts is a national math enrichment, coaching and competition program that promotes middle school mathematics achievement through grassroots involvement in every U.S. state and territory.
