Boy Scout earns his wings

LIKE FATHER, LIKE SON- Jared Andrew Erman of Westlake Village, right, is the third generation in his family to earn the Eagle Scout award. His grandfather Seneca Erman of Tucson, Ariz., center, and father Russ Erman, left, also hold the rank.
Jared Andrew Erman was awarded the Eagle Scout with Bronze Palm Rank at a National Court of Honor held at Temple Aliyah in West Hills in February.

He continues the tradition as a third-generation Eagle, along with his father and grandfather, Seneca Erman of Tucson, Ariz.

Jared, 16, is a sophomore at Westlake High School and a member of Troop 642 in Hidden Hills.

He began in Tiger Cub Scouts at age 6. His leadership positions included senior patrol leader. Under his leadership, Troop 642 won the Best Troop award at the 2007 Las Colinas District Camporee. Jared is active in his troop as a junior assistant Scoutmaster.

Jared's Eagle leadership service project involved the collection and donation of sports equipment, bicycles, and bike gear to Casa Pacifica, a local shelter for abused, neglected, and emotionally disturbed children. He then brought volunteers to the shelter to interact with the residents.

Jared is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Russ Erman of Westlake Village.
