Easter worship in Malibu

Malibu United Methodist will host an Easter Beach Sunrise Service at 6:30 a.m. Sun., March 23 at Zuma Tower No. 7 at Morning View Drive and Pacific Coast Highway. Parking is free; enter at the Zuma Beach east end kiosk.

Guests should dress warmly, and bring a blanket or beach chair.

The Easter celebration continues at the church, 30128 Morning View Drive, with a potluck brunch at 9 a.m., followed by a children's Easter egg hunt.

At the 10:30 a.m. worship service, Pastor Andy Mattick will preach on "The Power and Glory of the Resurrection." The Malibu Methodist Choir and guest singer Carly Thomas-Smith, an accomplished musical theatre artist, will provide music.

ThomasSmith has been featured in such Broadway productions as "Rent" and "We Will Rock You." She has also been a member of the gospel choir Broadway Inspirational Voices.
