Kipnes is a teacher of rabbinic pastoral counseling at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in Los Angeles. He has extensive experience helping young people move through the difficult moments in life. •Rabbi Elaine Zecher, chair of the Worship and Religious Practices Committee of the Central Conference of American Rabbis, will discuss the new Reform Movement prayer book at 7:30 p.m. Fri., March 14. Zecher, a rabbi at Temple Israel in Boston, sat on the editorial committee for mishkan tefillah, the new prayer book, and served as one of the five rabbis who published the prayer book. At the talk, Zecher will explain what makes this prayer book different from the others and what it says about the Reform movement and Jewish spirituality. |
