Agoura Hills Recreation Center sponsors a variety of activities

The Agoura Hills Recreation Center announces the following upcoming events. For more information on any programs, call (818) 5977361. Unless otherwise noted, all events take place at the center, 30610 Thousand Oaks Blvd.

•The City of Agoura Hills Department of Community Services' 2008 Summer Concerts in the Park series banner promotion is underway.

Sponsors' organization or business names will be displayed on the lower portion of the banner, which will be hung along Kanan Road and Thousand Oaks Boulevard from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend.

•Teens are invited on a Mountain High Ski Resort trip from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Fri., March 21.

The cost is $52 for ages 11 and 12, and $70 ages 13 to 17. Skiing and snowboarding lessons will be available for an additional $30. Participants must register by 6 p.m. Thurs., March 20.

•The second annual Planet Expo and 20th annual Trashbusters clean up program will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sat., April 19 at Sumac Park in Agoura Hills.

Planet Expo is a celebration that promotes awareness and education about the environment. Local organizations such as Las Virgenes Municipal Water District and Waste Management/G.I. Industries will have activities and information about keeping the Earth safe.

The Trashbusters program serves to clean and beautify the city of Agoura Hills as well as provide an opportunity to nonprofit organizations to raise funds. Participating groups such as Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, homeowners associations, churches, and other community groups will receive cash donations for each bag of trash collected.
