Class clowns vie for 'funniest' title

Joel Sinensky from Oak Park earned one of eight spots on a Northwestern University comedy team that is taking part in a competition to find the nation's funniest college student.

A Feb. 28 showdown at the Chicago university was the first of 32 campus contests in Rooftop Comedy's inaugural National College Comedy Competition.

The eightmember Northwestern team will advance to a regional semifinal round against Columbia College of Chicago on April 10.

Sinensky is a 21-year-old junior majoring in theater.

Eventually, people from around the world will vote online for the best four comedic students in two categories: stand-up and short film.
