Oak Park Neighborhood School will host open house

Choosing a preschool for children can be a major decision for parents.

The Oak Park Neighborhood School is hosting an open house and fall registration day from 10 a.m. to noon on Tue., March 4.

Prospective families can tour the school, speak to staff and learn about program philosophy.

"The OPNS open house is a great opportunity to see the preschool in action, talk with parents who already have children in the school, and meet with the director for a questionandanswer session," said Kim Gregorchuk, the preschool director

The school, which is open to children from age 2 years and 9 months to 5 years old, is located on the campus of Oak Hills Elementary School at 1010 Kanan Road in Oak Park.

The school's curriculum revolves around children's natural development and includes reading, writing, math, art and music.

Visiting the school with other parents will prove valuable, Gregorchuk said.

"It is always good to hear others' questions and remarks because they invariably ask something that you were also wondering about," Gregorchuk said. "Since there will be a waiting list for next year, it is a good way to sign up early and guarantee placement for the 2008-09 school year."
