Whale of a good time

The 12th annual Point Mugu State Park Whale Festival will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sun., March 9 at Sycamore Cove in Point Mugu State Park.

The event celebrates the annual migration of the gray whale and its successful return from the brink of extinction. Live entertainment, marine conservation information booths, whale-watching stations, arts and crafts, activities, music and food will all be part of the day's events.

Admission is free. There is a $10 day-use parking fee to park in the lots at Sycamore Canyon and at Leo Carrillo State Park.
