Exercise class open to seniors

The city of Agoura Hills Department of Community Services Senior Recreation Program is offering a "Balance for Life" exercise class for seniors.

The class uses movement and specific exercises set to music to build stronger, healthier muscles and improve balance.

Classes are ongoing and held 10 to 11 a.m. every Tuesday at the Agoura Hills Recreation Center, 30610 Thousand Oaks Blvd. The fee for a six-week session is $21.

Conejo Singles get together

Singles are invited to make new friends and share experiences at the meeting of Conejo Singles every Thursday night at 7:30 p.m.

Meetings take place at the United Methodist Church of Westlake Village at 1049 Westlake Blvd.

Triunfo YMCA to host casino night

The Triunfo YMCA will host a casino night dinner at 6:30 p.m. Sat., March 15 at the Los Robles Banquet Center, 299 S. Moorpark Road in Thousand Oaks.

The night will include live music and a silent auction.

Proceeds from the dinner will go toward the Triunfo YMCA Strong Kids fundraising campaign.

The Triunfo YMCA will provide free child care to children of dinnergoers at Yerba Buena Elementary School, 6098 Reyes Adobe Road in Agoura.

Tickets cost $40. Reservations must be made by March 1.

Genealogical society to meet

The Jewish Genealogical Society of the Conejo Valley and Ventura County will hold a general meeting from 2 to 4 p.m. Sun., March 2 at Temple Adat Elohim, 2420 E. Hillcrest Drive in Thousand Oaks.

The program will be "100 Years of the Workmen's Circle/ Arbeter Ring." Eric A. Gordon will speak about the Workmen's Circle/Arbeter Ring, which was established in New York City in 1900 as a refuge for Yiddishspeaking immigrant Jews.

Gordon has served as director of the Workmen's Circle/Arbeter Ring Southern California District since November 1995. He also serves on the Western Religion Administrative Committee of the Jewish Labor Committee.

Mariel Hemingway to speak

Ladies Who Launch, a national organization that supports women entrepreneurs, will host guest speaker Mariel Hemingway at their meeting 7 p.m. Mon., March 3 at the Spa at Four Seasons Hotel, 2 Dole Drive in Westlake Village.

Hemingway is an actress, author, model, mother and advocate of holistic and balanced living.

The meeting is free and open to the public.
