Community school needs our support

In 2007 I was asked to hear Brenda Harari speak about a new school opening in Calabasas. Since then, I have enrolled my two sons in that school, Las Virgines Community Learning Center. It is a truly phenomenal example of "progressive education."

Through our parent/faculty club, Collaborative Alliance of Parents, Teachers and Students, this school is provided with Harvard and Yale communication specialists who teach us about a multitude of subjects regarding our children's learning styles, brain function and methods of developing a passion for reading.

After people listen to Brenda share her vision and understand the school's mission, I am confident that they will consider coming aboard.

Taking our children out of a public school that we loved, and where our children had made friends, was certainly a difficult choice. Our decision, however, was the best change we could have made. We are now better equipped as parents.

As we are continuously provided with credited speakers, researchers, and authors, we are always educated in understanding ourselves, our children and our world. Whitney Schwartz Calabasas
